What is good to know if travelling to Utah?

  • Utah’s largest national park, Canyonlands, is split into three regions. On top of a 1500-foot mesa sits the Island in the Sky section of the park. Follow the paved roads leading to some of the most majestic views in the park. Rising up from the ground is the Needles area of sandstone spires. The wildest district in the park is the Maze, one of the most remote areas in the US.
  • The independent film festival, the Sundance Film Festival, which was founded by Robert Redford, is held annually at the Sundance Ski Resort.
  • In Salt Lake City visit the Museum of Church History and Art which tells the story of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from its New York origins and its settlement in Utah to today. The church has more than ten million members.
  • Take a trip to “The largest saltwater lake in the Western Hemisphere”, the Great Salt Lake. It consists of several rivers and streams flowing into the lake, but it has no outlet and the water is very salty. Visitors to the lake enjoy its buoyancy while active visitors sail and kayak.
  • One of the largest islands in the Great Salt Lake is Antelope Island. A 7.5-mile causeway attaches it to the “mainland”. Antelope Island State Park is popular for its beaches, bathing, camping, biking and hiking trails. A large bison population resides there and at the end of October a great autumn event takes place.
