I arrived at Hertz only to have them tell me they were about to close and they had no cars. I then watched, stranded outside in the cold, as everyone who worked there left. I scrambled to try another rental but couldn’t, and ended up taking an Uber with the last 5% of my phone battery. I will never use your service, or this Hertz, again.

Everything was fine. It was quite inconvenient that both spouses had to be present for both to be able to drive the vehicle; I’m sure there’s a good reason, but not everywhere has this requirement, so we’ll probably go back to rental services at CMI airport next time. Had to rearrange our whole afternoon last minute and bring our too-young-to-mask-or-vaccinate child in to the building. Drop off would have been better with a prior heads up or better signage regarding leaving the mileage report in the car; I put the keys in the box, then read that I was supposed to put the paperwork in the (locked) car. The car worked out great. Thanks.

The counter staff, James, and branch manager were extremely rude. They added insurance and would not take off. And would not change length of rental. When we called central reservations to change length of rental they said we went over their head and they would not rent us the vehicle. So we were stranded and had to take Amtrak instead.

Our confirmed reservations were not honored. After driving for over an hour to location to pickup car we were told there were not available. Confirmed reservation were worthless.

the older woman was helpful and i was pleasantly surprised to get a bigger car even though i had requested a kia or similar. since all she had on the lot was an Equinox i got that at the price i had planned to pay. Thank you

Fast and efficient service. Friendly staff. Excellent choice and condition of vehicles. The pick up location had a choice of vehicles we could take and when we indicated we have lots of luggage, the staff correctly suggested the Ford Explorer. Kudos to the staff.

Perhaps there could be a small map with arrows indicating the exact drop-off location. Sometimes Google maps will not bring you to the exact location but somewhere there and in a city like Chicago, you have to figure out the exact spot by going around in circles

No one told us that 21 cannot rent a minivan. We wasted our time to rent this car. And i didn’t find how to cancel to reservation after the lady at the drop off location told us we can’t rent.

Drop off easy and they ordered a taxi for us

I am very unhappy with the insurance I booked on the website as I assumed I would be covered for emergency breakdown but Avis would not accept the emergency breakdown so had to pay again for that. I also already had other travel insurance so just wasted money The policy is misleading

There was no car on the lot for my reservation. They were unable to help me locate a car at another location or with a competitor. I was just on my own to figure it out at the last minute. Reservations should not be allowed to be made or confirmed if they are unable to fulfill them.

The first the Budget rep assigned to me at check-in was a sedan that smelled likecigarette smoke, was beat up looking, and had a warning light up about needing an oil change. The second car the Budget rep assigned to me was an old looking Toyota 4Runner that a worn out break pedal that you had to press down all the way to get it to function, a driver's side passenger door that did not open from the inside of car, and a rear hatchback door that sometimes opened from the outside and sometimes stayed locked no matter how many time you hit unlock on the remote. To add insult to injury, Budget charged about 30-40% more at the Champaign, Illinois location than they charge elsewhere in the U.S. Needless to say, I did foresee that I was going to be visiting rent-a-wreck after paying top dollar to Budget.
