Cheap Car Rentals in Sacramento

1) Kayak providing a telephone number for assistance. 2) Hertz working better with me to address the issue of their downtown office being closed

I was scheduled to return on 7/4 but was not told the location would be closed. When I called the customer service number, they advised me to return it to the airport location. The airport location attempted the charge me for returning it to a different location. Hertz wasted 2 hours of my time, attempted to charge me MORE for their mistake and never once even apologized.

The price offered through Kayak was great. The staff at the Hertz location when we picked up was awful. They were very slow and had zero concern for helping anyone quickly. They also said our only option was a fully electric vehicle. We had to argue with the front office person to get to a manager to get to a gas vehicle. It was a terrible experience. The drop off was fine.

The process at check-in takes much too long. It seems this could all have done on-line except scanning in my DL and Credit Card. The car was fine, smelled heavily of smoke.

We arrived at the Budget counter at our scheduled pick up time, 1 pm. The line to get to the counter was a football field long. After asking those in the front we determined the wait time was 2-3 hours. We had doctor's appointments in Reno that afternoon which we would make, if we were able to get our car and go. A 2.5 hour wait would result in missing the appointments. We called an Uber and proceeded to Reno to make our appointments. I tried to cancel my reservation, only to be told on the app that I could not cancel. I will be disputing any charge on my credit card as Budget clearly did not meet the requirement of the contract to have an available car in a reasonable amount of time. Budget was well aware of the demand for cars to which they had agreed to supply. They had two representatives to service 100 yards of customers. That is not reasonable. Avis, Hertz and Enterprise had lines of two to three waiting customers; that is reasonable. I will never use on-line suppliers like Kayak again to book a rental car. I will join companies like Hertz and book directly with them.

The car was really dirty. It was dumb Kia van and not the brand noted. I know they very, but this was an especially worse version than the one advertised.

Offer cars with snow tires

Drop off super easy. Pick up took over 45 minutes. Need all counters open.

They wouldn’t give me a car. They said it had to be traversed 24 hours in advanced but it let me book it online

We had to wait 45 minutes for our car. Nobody apologized, nobody acted like this was anything abnormal.

The car smelt really bad, it was not cleaned properly

Reasonable rate, nice upgrade available, ez in-n-out both ends of transaction and no horror story to tell!

Check engine light was on the whole time. Windshield wipers were in bad condition. Key battery became low.
