Cheap Car Rentals in Seattle

The cost of the insurance for a day was higher than the cost of the rental.

They wanted to charge me extra for picking it up a half hour earlier than I originally said.

No good, Thrifty tried to upsell and use the phrase “you need to work this out with your 3rd party provider”. Long story short, fault advertisement, and will not use them anymore.

Had to wait almost 2 hours for a car. And my res was at 1p and flight delayed so didn’t even show up til 2:30p. Car was hours late and almost cause my kids and me to miss a ferry.

This is a tough review to leave as it was a very mixed experience. The first part of our experience with Thrifty was absolutely horrifyingly terrible. Our flight was scheduled to land in Seattle at 12:15 AM and we scheduled our pickup for 1:00 AM. We made it to the car rental facility at 12:58 AM. Were very very rudely told to go down to the 3rd level where someone would help up pick up our vehicle because apparently the front desk closed at 1:00 AM. well we made it down to the 3rd floor where there was not a single person working behind the thrifty counter. As a matter of fact, the kiosk didn’t even have lights on. However, there were many other people waiting. We’d went upstairs to double check if someone was ever going to come down and help up. When we’d done that, we found out that all of the people upstairs had completely left without ever coming to check if the probably 20-30 people waiting down there had received their vehicles so they could leave. At that point we’d found out that someone else who was waiting to pick up a car was scheduled to pick up their vehicle at 1:30 AM. Why would you be able to schedule a pickup time for a time that no one would be there to help you? Everyone had to leave for the night and order Ubers or find a different rents car with a different company. We had to Uber to our hotel. Which we did not get to until almost 2 AM. Then we had to Uber back to the car rental facility the next morning. This is where the story turns for the positive. At this point we literally just wanted a car to get around. The woman (whose name I greatly apologize for not remembering because she was amazing) who helped up totally turned the situation around. She listened to what happened to us and refined our Ubers, gave us a discount, and upgraded our vehicle for free. While I would have a very hard time recommending using thrifty to someone else, I will say the second person who helped us very much rectified the situation.

I reserved a car and when I got to the counter, the only car that was available was luxury upgrade that I had to pay extra for. Tried to sort it out but was placed on hold and unable to get to customer service. Ended up paying extra and getting late to my appointment. Disappointing experience.

I showed up 5 min early and they didn't have a vehicle for me and wouldn't have one until 5 hours after my scheduled pickup. The only thing they said I could do was cancel and when I said that's what would have to happen I was still charged and am now having to wait for a refund. This lack of accountability and responsibility on their part caused me to miss an entire trip, and financial stress. Actual worst car rental experience, I would rather use Turo even if they are more expensive.

I got pulled over for speeding 67 in a work zone and they gave me a 235 dollar fine for not having no tabs on the front of the car the representative at Hertz left it up to me to take care of the problem why is up to me to take the time to care of this I will never rent a car from Hertz again

They did not have the vehicle I reserved, and failed to inform me before arriving for pickup.

The dropoff was painless. The pickup office was a zoo… I felt sorry for the one guy waiting on a horde of people, complaining, etc. Took way to long to get outta there. Other than that, car was cool, etc. Thx!

Wonderful handling vehicle at a reasonable cost. Pickup and drop off were very fast. The exterior of the car wasn’t entirely clean at pickup. It might be nice to have a “quick start cheat sheet” for basic controls on different models.

Customer service was great! I believe his name was John, and, though they didn’t have the car I had I had rented, they accommodated with an upgrade option, so thanks for that. The person who helped me was very courteous and helpful.

They did not respond to multiple emails attempting to cancel the reservation despite following instructions provided by the company. Car was never picked up.

Price shown online was not the final price. I paid a lot more than expected.

Excellent all around. Car was great, staff was excellent, fast check out and check in.

Pickup and drop off was very easy. Front Desk staff was friendly. I would use them again! Rented a 7 passenger Chevy Traverse... very nice.
